Hello all my lovely people!~ I’m back again with yet another review product and I am so excited to share with you one of my favorites skincare products that I have been loving. Funny thing is, I put this review on draft/pending for the longest time and almost forgot about it because I was so busy with work and other personal things. However, I have been using it for months now so it is safe to say this review will be 100% accurate based on my experience.
To start off, I have been a fan of Korean skincare for as long as I can recall. I’ve been following the Korean dramas/kpop/culture for literally the longest time ever since I was just in elementary school and I am now (almost) 24 years old haha. Moroever, I absolutely loooooveee Korean skincare culture and have mad respect for their knowledge in terms of skincare also. Koreans strongly believes and are very prideful in taking care of their skin in which they literally do have one of the best products in town that curates to their skin’s needs. Heck, all of the Korean celebrities I watch on my laptop every single day has hella freaking nice skin I am so so jealous!
Note: This post contains affiliate links in which helps keep this blog running. This product was bought with my own money and all opinions are honest and of my own, as always.
So that being said, I’ve been doing a ton of research these past months more religiously (since 2016) on Korean skincare. I stumbled upon many products and brands, to the point where my head literally aches at the sight of how many freaking products they do have out there on the market. Not to also mention, as I begin to get really into this, my bank account hurts too OTL Yes, having a skincare routine is definitely an essential if you want nice and healthy skin, but at the same time, they can be quite a cost to your budget. But in the end, as long as your skin is happy and healthy looking, a little investment won’t hurt (that bad) right? LOL
In this post, I will talk about BANILA CO‘s famous cleansing balm line called “CLEAN IT ZERO” This particularly line of their brand has many different options such as:
- Clean It Zero ORIGINAL – suitable for normal skin; a cult favorite among tons of beauty bloggers, claims to take off waterproof makeup like a charm
- Clean It Zero PURITY – suitable for sensitive skin; takes off makeup without stripping the skin’s natural oils
- Clean It Zero RESVERATROL – suitable for oily skin; helps preventing fine lines, & anti-aging
- Clean It Zero RADIANCE – suitable for dry skin; helps brightening dull skin & pigmentation
Banila Co’s “Clean It Zero: Radiance”
First of all, I am in loooveeee with this product’s packaging, like how aesthetics is that! LOVE IT! You can actually see your own reflection on the box, which I thought was cool tbh hehe. The packaging has both Korean & English instructions which is super great! 🙂 Also, it has the security code scan bar outside the package as well as a sealed sheet on the container to ensure its’ authenticity and cleanliness. The product container itself was also packaged very neatly and safely inside the box.
Texture & Scent:
Inside you’ll get a spatula which you can use to scoop the cleansing balm for cleanliness as well as clear plastic cover to keeps your container/product clean.
The texture is a sherbet type and all you really need is literally a tiny scoop (dime size or less) and you’ll be able to clean your whole face with it, literally. As you rubs the balm onto your skin, it will melts and dissolves into an oil like mixture and if you add a few drops of water on top of it, it will lather up into this milky white color! Just remember, a little goes a long way so you don’t really need to use too much, just add water! 🙂 Moreover, the product does not have a strong smell but it definitely smells really pleasant, not something that would irritate anyone if I may say.
This cleansing balm is meant to be the first step to your double cleansing routine which means you use this before you begin using your actual cleanser. Why? This kind of cleansing oil/balm is meant to helps take off your makeup so when you go in with your regular cleanser, you’ll be able to clean your makeup easier. I mean, after all, double cleansing is never bad because you would want to ensure your skin is squeaky clean and well moisturized after taking off all that makeup, right?
I went ahead and tested it out using a SMASHBOX Always On Liquid Lipstick (MATTE) in the shade “Stepping Out” (which I absolutely love & recommends, btw!) and knowing that this is a matte lipstick, it will be a challenge to take them off completely in one try. So I did. I used one small scoop of the balm and rubs it gently, concentrating on the lipstick on my hand and woah lahh, the lipstick began to melt and dissolves as I go. You can wash it off or wipe it off, in this case, I washed mine off and my hand feels squeaky clean and SMOOTHHH AF!
Mineral Oil, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, PEG-10 Isostearate, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Polyethylene, Butylene Glycol, Water, vitis Vinfera (Grape) Root Extract, Glycerin, Moringa Pterygosperma Seed Extract, Collagen, Butylparaben, Fragrance
I have tried the ORIGINAL, PURITY, & RESVERATROL versions of this cleansing balm line from BANILA CO and I honestly loved all of them. I, however, personally very bad at noticing the differences between products but I could honestly understand why this product is so well loved and received. It does a wonderful job at removing my full face off makeup, not so much for when I tried to remove my waterproof mascara. I had to gently rub the eyes areas for a bit longer to be able to get rid off the makeup up to at least 95% which I don’t think is so bad at all. Once I washed off the product, my skin feels very soft and smooth (even before I go in with the actual cleanser), and it does actually brightens up my skin (a tiny bit, hehe) which I thought was pretty cool. However, the after affect tends to be temporary and only noticeable after you washed your face with it, though I could be completely wrong due to my horrible skills at paying attention to the differences.
By all means, this is a great product and it does works as it has claimed to. I’d say, go for it and you’ll be amazed at what a cleansing balm can do to your skin. It is gentle, easy to use, not quite pricey and a little goes a long way which means each tub lasts you a long while 🙂 Oh, not to mention, it smells nice hehe! Overall, I love BANILA CO Clean It Zero line and how effective they are. Also, I find that these cleansing balms are so helpful and such an essential to anyone’s skincare routine. If you’ve never tried any cleansing balms or oil cleansers before, definitely give this brand a try!
